Obituary

Virginia “Ginger” Beebe
Age 82, formerly of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on December 20, 2020 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse due to complications from Covid-19.

Ginger was predeceased by her loving husband Guy earlier this year, after 56 years of marriage. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Stacy) Beebe of Huntington Beach, CA, Christopher (Laura) Beebe of Mission Viejo, CA; daughters, Frances (Lindsey) Rodhouse of Hoschton, GA, and Tonya (Jeffrey) Coulter of Memphis, NY; eight grandchildren; brothers, Jesse (Jo) Pully, and David (Olinda) Pully; sisters-in-law, Connie, Gladys, Harlene, and Marian.

Born in Lancaster, PA in 1938, Ginger graduated from Odessa-Montour Central School, then went on to earn her degree in Ceramics Engineering from Alfred University. She was a Coordinator for Literacy Volunteers of America and, prior to that, a teaching assistant at OMCS.

Ginger was a longtime member of the choir at St. Mary’s of the Lake in Watkins Glen and a member of Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered in the community as a 4-H leader, driver for Meals on Wheels and member of the Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary. In her younger years, Ginger was a competitive bowler. She also enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, gardening and scrapbooking. But most of all, she loved traveling across the country to visit her grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa, NY. A celebration of Ginger’s life will take place at a later date for family and friends.

The family wishes that you may consider a memorial donation in Ginger’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 438 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620.

Offers of condolences to the family may be written in her obituary link at www.RoyceChedzoy.com. Arrangements entrusted to Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.

I am so sorry for your loss. We met when I volunteered with Literacy Volunteers. She loved her clients and tutors and was always very supportive and caring. Later we shared an office when I joined Schuyler food pantry. It was a joy to share with her She was always smiling but she also could listen and help with whom she met and/or worked.
Again, my very deepest sympathy

My husband Al and I met Ginger when we were students at Alfred. It seems that if she wasn't smiling, she was laughing.......usually laughing. Our friendship continued after college. We loved her then and we always will . To Ginger's family: You are blessed to have had this awesome lady and her awesome husband at the helm of your family and they are blessed to have had you. Our love and sympathy to all of you. Thank God, there's another Meeting Place. Al and Pep
