Richard S. Brown

Age 73, of Burdett, NY was welcomed to heaven on December 14, 2020, quickly taken from us by Covid-19.

Rich was a wonderful Christian man, dedicated to his precious family and the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Lois.  He cherished his children and grandchildren.   Rich was born in Syracuse, NY, the son of Richard C. and Marilyn Brown.  He is survived by his loving family, wife Lois J.P. Brown; son, Richard D. (Tammy) Brown; daughter, Kristen (Don) Adams; sister, Susan (David) Kling; and seven grandchildren.
He was dedicated to his friends, career and hobbies; always being there to help and understand friends, family and co-workers.

He was especially proud of his service to his country through the US AirForce from 1969 to 1971, serving in Phan Rang AFB in Vietnam as a C-123 crew chief. When he ended his Vietnam tour, he was stationed at Griffiss AFB as a B-52 crew chief with Strategic Air Command. A true proud American Veteran.
Through the years, Rich served as Educator, Assistant Chapter Director andDirector of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter F.; and he and Lois served as NYS Couple of the Year in 1997. He served as a Boy Scout Troop leader, was an American Legion member, and served as Quartermaster with the Watkins Glen VFW. He also served as president of the Schuyler County Seneca Chiefs Motorcycle Club; and for 15 years, he and Lois served as tour leaders with the Americade Motorcycle Rally in Lake George, NY. Rich especially enjoyed his membership and participation with the Glen Regional Corvette Club and he treasured his Corvette friends.

Rich was a Xerox Customer Service Technician, mostly in the Ithaca area, for41 years. He also served with the Town of Hector for the last five years. Needless to say, Rich’s smiling face always let you know that you were very special to him. Rest in Peace wonderful loving and devoted gentleman. You are dearlymissed.
A private family service will be held at this time.  A memorial celebration in his memory will be held at a later date and announced in the spring or summer of 2021.
Condolences to the family may be written in his obituary at www.RoyceChedzoy.com.  Arrangements are entrusted to Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.

So sorry and sad to learn of Rich's passing--"mourn with those who mourn" (Rom. 12:15). Rich's devotion as a husband was evident through his frequent visits to Lois in her Rhodes Hall office, which took place pretty much any time he was in the vicinity. I'll always remember him as a cheerful presence on our floor.

It seem like yesterday that I was working in Ithaca on Team 4 with Rich. All tho it seems like yesterday it was in fact a long time ago. Many times in life we loose tract of friends as life pass's by us. This is one of those times that I wish I had reached out to say hello and catch up on what life has given us since the last time we saw each other. I wish Rich and I had talked about our love for Corvette's and sports cars. I also wish we had talked about our days in the military. I'm guessing we could have talked about a lot of stuff that now we won't be able to do. It saddened me greatly to hear of Rich's passing. Just want to extend my sincere sadness for your loss.
